As a matter of fact, I just started reading 'Journey...' very recently.
It is a fantastic book, really. I got caught up reading Mark Fisher yesterday but I'll get back to Celine soon.
I can see him becoming a favourite of mine.

I really enjoyed Journey, I enjoyed Death on Credit... Guignol's band was okay (I think I enjoyed reading about seedy turn-of-the-century London more than anything)... London bridge was a mess. Read North, and don't think i'll pick up Castle to Castle or Rigadoon.

I'd read Death on Credit, then Journey and stop, personally.

Not a frog, but yes. French is a romance language, same as Spanish. Both are more alike than French and English, so they translate better.
Always pick Spanish translations whenever possible for French, Italian and Portuguese works, unless you know there is some superb one in English, or one with great annotations, or the specific writer is well known for his dry style (Houllebecq, for example).

It's up to your taste though. If you pick an edition from Spain you may not like the "gallegadas", usually omitted in American editions. I also think the English translation might have been toned down (it's what I felt with Death on Credit when compared to Journey to the end... which I read in Spanish).
