Hey /lit/, I promised a few days ago I'd dump this to alleviate any hatred for comics that still persists in any of you. Grant Morrison, while a retardedly polarizing force over on /co/, is a fantastic Scottish comics writer who has worked on such gems as "Doom Patrol" and "All Star Superman."

"Animal Man" is not just a superhero story (and I know you've heard that line before). But for me to tell you what kind of story it is would ruin everything. Enjoy, and if anyone really has a problem with me dumping this, I'll just move to /co/.

Grant is clearly trying to make a statement about perceived reality, and that the reality we live is no more real than loony toon coyote's.

That's what I got from this.

It was good. Also /co/ is full of my little pony fags, they really need to separate animated cartoons and comics because that place is terrible.

Yeah, the book started as a short mini-series and then when it got picked up for an ongoing, Morrison began plotting huge mysteries and asking reality-questioning, uh, questions. This is the first issue of the series as a continuing book. The concept of reality gets fucked with endlessly for the next twenty issues and it is AMAZING.

Also /co/ is full of ponyfags, it's true, but they aren't all that difficult to ignore most of the time. Homestuck threads get more annoying, really.

Considering dumping another "hey /lit/ you should read comics" issue, but I can't decide what. Does anyone want issue #6?

OP if you like Grant Morrison read Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on a Serious Earth. The story is truly captivating and terrifying. Highly recommended

If you do read this, try to get the edition with the original script in the back as an appendix - it's a massive insight into how Morrison writes.
