I don't know but I did read the memoir of a former child soldier in 8th grade for a book presentation project that I was 100% not ready for. Pretty graphic, vivid, and heartbreaking especially towards the end. If anyone's interested it's called A Long Way Home

Mayombe by Pepetela is an interesting read. Specially if you read The land of the end of the world by Antunes, this is a Portuguese author. Pepetela is Angolan.
