Any good books that elucidate how Japan became so based? Or Will I need to learn 日本語 for this task?

I know a good guy who lived in japan. Culture is not what is shown to tourists, it is what people hide from them. Overpopulated country cannot be based.

You are misunderstanding collective unconscious.

The shear amount relevant modern images produced by that country can't be ignored.

It is not hard to see that something is boiling.

It's not hidden, this is the inherent mental seepage that comes from the collective mind I'm trying to learn about.

My former psychologist once told me Lacan said (I guess it was Lacan, seeing from your post) that the Japanese don't have a subconscious.
I thought it was a very bizarre, almost stupid claim. I haven't read him, though. Care to elaborate on that?

Okay, I'm currently reading this but I just realized that the lacanian definition of alienation is not the usual one but is instead more akin to "linking".

Finished reading it. I'm a bit confused, having very superficial knowledge of Lacan and his terminology, plus I may be tired but it feels like there are quite a lot of non sequiturs, probably because the author of the article is Japanese.
I'm not even sure what is considered to be the unconscious here, based on the diagram. Is 'the other' part of the psyche or is it considered to be an outward influence which causes the 'hole'?

Also this taught me a bit about the context of the Japanese language. I use jisho dictionary for learning the language and I always assumed the on-yomi and kun-yomi parts of kanji details were seperate in that the on-yomi were the different pronunciations for when the kanji are used in compounds, without knowing it's supposed to be their chinese reading, though I guess it functionally works as I assumed nonetheless.

At this point this is the wrong thread, but with what I get from the article plus the famous 'the unconscious is structured like a language' thing, Lacan's conception of the unconscious seems a bit odd. Obviously I'm no expert and I just skimmed through his wiki page but his unconscious doesn't seem to account for the phenomenon of dreams. Will search for more details.
