What books help you write? They don't have to explicitly give advice on writing, although that's acceptable.

Personally I read The Poetics of Space but it only helps with my fiction writing (focusing on the image above everything else, avoiding the use of metaphors, some more symbolic stuff). I don't have anything that helps for more analytical or philosophical stuff, other than just taking a quote out of a passage to reinforce a point.

Any novel with a style you want to emulate/approach is valid too.

Redpill me on the poetics of space. Is it not just a book about architecture?

I've been studying The Good Earth for how it combines literary symbolism and thematic unity with excellent pacing and tension. A literary page-turner is what I aspire to, ultimately.

The book "Consider This" by Chuck Palahniuk has helped a lot, mostly because my analysis is recapitulating many of the concepts defined there (stuff like "clocks", "guns", "strippers vs. comedians") Another useful book is Making Shapely Fiction; many of its shapes are (unsurprisingly) showing up as well: snapshot, juggling, journey, visitation, bear at the door.

>Is it not just a book about architecture?
not at all,, more about phemonology of interior spaces,, has a lot of quotes from poets and novelists to show examples about how they play with the concept of space etc

This, mostly

It's more about poetics and the meaning or impressions one gets from interiors. lot of really interesting stuff about the poetic image and how that gives way to dreams/daydreams

For me it is life itself. It is very hard to write when I'm feeling undisturbed. As in completely at peace with the universe.
