There's nothing practical in idealizing something that is far removed from what constitutes a human. Look at stoicism and how much more reasnable it is: be content with what you have, don't dwell on things in the past, even though people are retards or bad, they are your kin and you should work with them to further stability and health, if there are/aren't gods you can still be happy by being a virtuous person.
