Bitching about things you don't like is for low IQ people to make them feel higher IQ than they really are. A true patrician only discusses what is good.

Something to think about: what distinguishes "young adult fiction" from "children's books"? Because some classic kids' books can be very dark, and very grim, and deal with very important aspects of growing up. Think of The Chronicles Of Narnia or The Jungle Book. They're not really YA but they deal with a lot of things that YA purportedly exists to deal with.

But without discussing what makes something bad, how will we learn and understand what makes something good? Granted OP isn't really saying anything, he's just a frog posting faggot

Fundamentally I don't really think there is much of a difference outside of just "intended audience"

YA literature serves an important role in being a stepping stone for teens to enter the world of adult literature. You need immature books for immature people to read, if only for them to develop a habit of reading. Literally better than nothing.

My guess: you can be more edgy/gritty/pulpy in your presentation in YA, and include things like swearing, smut, explicit descriptions of violence/gore, that would stylistically be out of place in a children's book.
