Iranian here, and I'm not afraid to say I wish I were racially German though one with R1a haplogroup. They had the best culture in recent times. 17th to 19th century Germany was blessed by Ahura Mazda and went beyond even Ancient Greece.

Homer's epic's were passed down orally, the oldest written version of the illiad comes from like 10th century AD North Italy. There is no objective reading of Homer, his works are by all means a collective expression and have taken a variety of forms over the centuries.

There clearly were fair haired, fair eyed Dorians in Ancient Greece from eastern Europe, but most Ancient Greeks, even upper class Athenians, were swarthy. I dont think you can really take a reading of something like The Illiad and call it objective, we dont even know much about Homer himself and the oldest surviving manuscript is from 10th century AD. Homers epics are more akin to a folk lore than a primary text, thats also what makes them so great. Something like The Illiad could never be written by one man alone, its quite literally the final product of thousands of years of collective distillation across innumerable groups of people.
