Does anyone else hate it when a book gets a movie adaptation and suddenly the book is more or less universally marketed with covers based on the film?

>> No.1543852

No, because when the movie craze is over I can pick up a copy on sale.

>> No.1543854

Only if the covers suck as bad as that.

>> No.1543859

duct tape the cover. Now you have a softback and don't have to worry about the picture.

I'm just glad they left the Country of the Houyhnhnms out of the movie. That chapter was sacred to me.

I never liked the fact that my One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest cover features Jack Nicholson. Not that the film wasnt seven shades of brilliant, its just feels wrong since McMurphy is described as bit more ratty (and ginger I think) in the book than Jack.

You're a fat loser. Drop your trip if you don't want to carry this stigma around with all your posts.

"True Grit" was a really popular book and you could go to just about any thrift store in America and find a copy for 29 cents.

Even if you don't live in America, you could probably pay an American friend to go buy an old copy and send it to you; it would probably cost a lot less than purchasing new, even that way.

Through all this, the fact remains that you are a fat loser.

Although I do like used books. I also like buying books from a big bookstore.
Moreover, there are some books that I cannot exactly find in my local used book shop.
Come on, was that really necessary? I know this is 4chan. But this is a goddamn /lit/. If this is all you can gain from reading literary books, you should probably quit reading since obviously you are wasting your time and money.
