"Family" - as in when people say "family is the most important thing in my life". Like how does that manifest? What do they actually "do". Or is it a meaningless platitude?
Who is their family? Who is not their family? Seeing as how micromanaging your child's life can do more harm then good, is that still making family the most paramount thing your life?

That's a horrible thing to say to someone, and certainly not the kind of compassionate response I would expect from someone who did grow up in a loving environment and has "deep bonds" (what ever that means to you, I'm not sure you do) with their family members.
My point was that "family" is a nebulous term, it's not specific or clear like

That I get.
But saying "family" sounds like the kind of thing a airheaded thot who wants to virtue signal would say.
