What book written by Dante should I read? (You know, knowing the fact that I've read the Divine Comedy)

>> No.1535969

The Divine Comedy or just Inferno?

The whole thing, it's just plain stupid to just read the Inferno part.

Oh look, a tripfag that doesn't help at all. I must be in an alternate reality.

The Divine Comedy requires a very "moist" attention span; I'd recommend just reading The Inferno. I've read The Purgatorio and The Paradiso, and something just seemed missing. The last two parts of the DC became very dry, and I struggled to keep focused on them. All in all, the DC should be read as a whole, even if The Inferno is (arguably) the best part.

I don't agree with this.

Why? Since when leaving a book halfway through is a good thing?

With the Divine Comedy. Purgatorio is trying, Paradiso is Beatrice and God being dicks about how much of an idiot Dante is. I love how much people idolize this epic poem. Dante was kicked out of Italy, he made a hit list in poetic form. The imagery is amazing, but there's not really a plot of note.

The three parts are not really interconnected, and Purgatorio and Paradiso are quite boring. There's a reason Inferno has attained the fame that it has apart from the other two.
