Good evening /lit/
I'm in search of a decent laugh, so I ask you, what is the most humorous book you've ever read?
Can be any genre, style, whatever.

Finnegans Wake

A lot of Nabokov's books are quite funny.

Lolita is clever. Invitation to a Beheading is downright farcical.

I laughed out loud at Catch-22

"I am the best man in the world, and here are three men I've killed already, and two of the three were priests."

Quote related.

Also, satire in general usually gets me.

A modest proposal made me chuckle at times

any of Wilde's comedies should suffice

I would recommend Tara Gilesbie's masterpiece, "My Immortal." This is an excellent work of absurdist literature and includes a great deal of thought provoking commentary regarding nihilism as well as the "culture of death" which is omnipresent in today's world. This novel also focuses on satirizing the ignorance and foolishness of the modern youth. I would highly recommend it. It is a very short read and can be found for free anywhere on the Internet.

This literally temporarily made me dumber after reading it. For a few hours, my thought processes were even more sluggish and incoherent than usual. [apoiler]It was worth it.[/spoiler]

I second this, not even trolling. I had tears in my eyes reading that, especially the first four chapters or so.
