I really liked Claudia Rankin's Citizen: An American Lyric. Felt a bit over the top but I think that was the point to some degree. It's a sort of obsessive, neurotic book about being a black woman and how that means people see and treat you. And framed as a poem when it's so close to prose it feels even more shocking and gross and like a nervous break down. It's very good
