How can I be certain that I will go to heaven when I die? I believe in Jesus (at least I think I do, or maybe I'm just lying to myself) but do I actually love Jesus? I don't know. I'm just a coward who doesn't want to go to hell. The thought of going to hell and suffering forever frightens me. I just don't want to suffer. I'm just thinking about myself, not anyone else.
And like I said, do I truly believe in Jesus or am I lying to myself?

God wants a complete inner conversion in imitation of Christ. It's impossible but the goal is to completely strive with every part of your being all the time. The extent to which we sincerely do that is the extent to which we love God authentically, the way He wants us to love Him.

That's not Christianity; when you believe you'll know it. It is a great feeling of surrender to the infinite. When you become a Christian, heaven and hell won't be on your mind, only God. You'd be closer to Him when you realize that you cannot save yourself from death.

Why would you want to go to heaven? Being eternally conscious sounds like a literal fucking nightmare. The fact that life ends at some is what gives life meaning in the first place. Also, the idea of a place of eternal bliss is completely stupid, as the very concept of bliss is completely meaningless with sorrow. Essentially, heaven would barely be any different from being dead forever. Both are states in which nothing ever changes, which would be completely unbearable. The only upside to being eternally dead is that you’re not conscious of it, which softens the monotony.
