i think it has to do with the speed of the board. /lit/ is easily the fastest board i post on.
the sqt on /sci/ is literally the most well-behaved part of this website i have ever seen. every question gets answered in a polite manner. theres one anon that gathers up all the unanswered questions and posts them in one big post right at the beginning of the next thread. theres this one poster on there thats an actual furry, avatar-fags with furshit with every single post, and no one ever says anything, no acknowledgement whatsoever. its so nice. ive never seen a single fight on there.

3-4 years ago it was muuuuch better. The /pol/ transplants have really brought this board down. Now every other thread is just a political question and no one bother even mentioning books. The few who read only read books with a /pol/-approved aesthetic. Guenonposters are the perfect example of this. There was a time when a Guenon thread was a rarity and hardly anybody knew who he was and the threads were somewhat good, bow his just pushed as buzzword. Also the amount of “fuck new art, fuck feminist, low iq nwords” post is exorbitant. I wish every person who nigger hear would get auto banned. Even if one of them happens to be smart, it would at least filter out all the transplants that comtribute nothing to this board. As much as I hate them, antinatalist thread are one the few things actually /lit/ related that is being spam. I soend most of my time in /ck/ now since /lit/ isn’t worth it right now. Who knows, it might be better in a year or so. There are hardly good chart threads anymore, sad.

The only times I’ve ever posted on /sci/ have been whenever I have an ungoogleable science question, but I’ve found them to be both polite and interesting. The only times I’ve ever posted on /lit/ has been when I’m reading a really good but esoteric book and can’t find anybody to discuss it with, and I’ve found the board fairly wanting. If today is an average day on /lit/ however, I’d say the place has gone to the dogs. Half the threads posted are just thinly veiled /pol/ threads with something about a book in the op. Too bad. They kind of ruin everything

I've resolved to completely abandon this board by the end of the year. I brought my usage down to once a week. There is nothing good left on here. The plan is to convert all the time that was used on /lit/ into time spent reading. It's been easy since I've come to terms with the fact that the board is dead.
I just want to know what happened to 4chan as a whole, even /ic/'s quality has gone downhill.

The big problem is probably that by now, most of the new crowd on this site comes over from /pol/, while most other formerly big boards like /b/ and /k/ are increasingly just shells of what they were five years ago attracting hardly any people to this site anymore.
