I love Kafka on the Shore, besides that I’ve only read his short story collection Men Without Women. It was okay, some stories definitely stronger than others. I’ve been thinking of ordering Norwegian Wood.

Norwegian wood is very good, but honestly if you loved Kafka on the shore I would recommend The wind up bird chronicle. It's more in the same vein as Kafka on the shore. Very surreal and great.

Norwegian wood is great. Trilogy of the rat is also worth reading too

My favorite was 1Q84, but I’ve also been told that I have terrible taste. Take that as you will
Least favorite was Pinball 1974

Kafka on the Shore is great. I did like Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki but not as powerful as Kafka

>> No.15272840

wind up bird is superior it to everything else but everything else is still good too

Gimmicky middle-brow trash for tasteless nitwits.

formulaic but kind of comfy. his earlier works are better. his late works are derivative and bordering on self-parody.

hard boiled wonderland should make his nose bleed

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is definitely his best out of what I've read.
