New to this particular board. After reading a few threads I have to ask, is this the most miserable board on the site? The surface reads like a bunch of overread, socially stunted, pseudointellectuals slinging shit back and forth.

I'm really looking for a new time sink though, so is /lit/ worth it at all? Is there gold nuggets buried underneath all the browns ones? Should I just move on, and if not, what do you guys get out of /lit/?

maybe. If you haven't noticed already there is another thread of anons arguing whether this is still the case. Is /lit/ as time-efficient as actually delving into literature yourself, chewing on the words of the dead and the dying? No. I admonish you to minimize your stay as much as possible, only enough to find what you need and leave before you find yourself hopelessly absorbed by the safari you were originally supposed to spectate.
