Probably no one has given him a fair analysis. Most academic papers come from feminists or post-modernists, who are hardly up to the task. There are a few champions of his work on the Internet who are somewhat cringeworthy (I am thinking of the lad who owns theabsolute.net). Calasso devoted a rare essay to Weininger, which is probably the best we are going to get, even though it is somewhat dismissive. Still, who can blame Calasso in this account, since Weininger did in fact seem to lose his cool shortly after writing his opus. IMO his "Metaphysics" is where he really went off the deep end. Some sort of obsessiveness took over with his idea of "universal symbolism"--the very idea was perhaps too overwhelming, and did not bode well with his Kantian ethics, whereat every phenomena became a symbol for some sort of immorality, whilst God absconded to an absolute remoteness. Weininger himself fell into an abyss--for who could cross such a gulf?
