I want to enter a writing contest with has the topic: "dark". Im allowed to submit up to 3 short stories of a length of 3-5 pages.

My Problem is that evrytime i start writing dought is creeping up in my head saying that my idea is shit. Then i start writing a on a new idea and the circle continues leaving me with text stumps. I also dont like my prose but thats on another page. Im new to writing prose and only written one short story for the pleasure of it.
How do i stop these thoughts? How do i gain confindence in my ideas?

Post them on /lit/. We'll praise them and give you the confidence you need to give them the treatment they deserve.

its usually not the idea thats bad and the exacution (the prose). try keeping it simple and subtle.
