Is milsf really performing well, though? Keep in mind that when you're churning out a cheap digital product of any kind that your target market is going to be largely foreign/ESL. That's too bad, but for me the "soul" of Sprawl wasn't in the worldbuilding tbqh (just extrapolate from Neuromancer and a few bits of Count Zero and every new location feels pretty much the same). For me, the SOUL was rather in the dialogues and the bursts of jazzy pseudo noir prose (which peaked in Neuromancer), so as long as the writing is on par I wouldn't mind if the plot wasn't as cool.

And then, I don't know. Some snowflakes who can See Through The Bullshit manage to convince their company/find allies in the conquered peoples, fight fight fight, eventually arriving in the corrupt center of the Empire to either end it or become it. Beyond a very loose guideline I tend to make it up as I go, so I can't tell you much more.

But those that have read or currently reading dune; Do you feel that it's far more fitting to read the physical book than ebooks/Audiobooks?

Like, I dunno if it's part of Herbert's genius, but reading the prophetics/scriptures on paper 'feels' better to read than having it be the same text (italics of the foreshadowing vs the normal font of the plot) on a ebook version.

This is going to take a lot longer than I thought. That's alright.
I've gone through 50% of the 260 members, the bottom 50% in terms of books listed on their account, which is only 3% of the total books listed by all members, though I assume most of these will be "to read" or not SFF.
There are going to be changes made to group membership due to a mistaken assumption on my part.
I foolishly assumed that most of those who would join would be those who read SFF.
There are also a LOT of the same few popular books across many lists and that's all they have listed as read.
That doesn't help anyone find new SFF books to read. As such, the following action will be taken:
ANY MEMBER WHO DOESN'T HAVE AT LEAST ONE (1) SFF NOVEL WITH LESS THAN 100K RATINGS MARKED AS READ WILL BE REMOVED AT THE END OF THE MONTH.
Next month the group description will be changed to include that as a requirement.

Observations
Almost all members if they have any comics listed at all as being read, have read Watchman.
've only noticed 1 non-English SFF book listed that doesn't seem to have an English translation. It's in Spanish and no it isn't magical realism.
One guy with a lot of "how to get a gf" and "how to be a man" books that he's highly rated.
Someone with a lot of non-fiction read, but no fiction listed at all.
A member who reads a LOT of Dan Brown, and more Dan Brown read by more members than I'd expected.
Two who have rated and liked romance novels.
One member has read a lot of Christian Apocalyptic fiction

I enjoyed the concept of the Four Horseman as displayed in Shannara.

That was simply an observation. I'm looking through the entire listing of everything on each member account. The recommendations bookshelf was meant for people who didn't want to rate anything but still have some input on it being good.

As noted I've only done half the members and I started from the least amount of books to the most.
