/lit/, what's a good book without any women/romance? Even 1984 turned into a fuck festival for a good part of it.
I need something to distract me from the loneliness. Maybe something about a fighting in a war, or fishing or something. About men who struggle or live a simple life and are content with it.

Moby Dick and Blood Meridian are the two greatest American novels and both are almost entirely woman-free.

Some others:

The Old Man And The Sea (Hemingway)
The Bear (Faulkner)
Huckleberry Finn (Twain)
Treasure Island (Stevenson)
The Lost World (Conan Doyle) the MC originally goes on the expedition to impress a girl but when he gets back he finds she's married someone else and he realises he doesn't care because she was silly anyway
The Hobbit (Tolkien)
The Call of the Wild (London)
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (Verne)
The Wind In The Willows (Grahame)
Lord of the Flies (Golding)
The Jungle Books (Kipling)
The Kon-Tiki Expedition (Heyerdahl)

coincidence?

One of the best chapters in Moby Dick was Starbuck reminding Ahab of his family though.

What's does 'came' mean in this sentence?
Also, I loved Ivan Denisovich so this seems right up my alley. Thanks lad.

If you liked George Orwell maybe read Animal Farm. My first choice however would be Grapes of Wrath.
