Not him, but nobody knows who is responsible for the authorship of the Qur'ān. What we do know is that the Qur'ān was maintained exclusively in oral traditions for up to a century before being compiled in written form.

I think the idea Muslims have is that the Qur'ān is the literal word of God spoken through Muḥammad's mouth. This is distinct from the divine inspiration of the Bible, because the Bible contains poetry, correspondence, and four different narratives of the same event, none of which are even claimed to have been authored by God.
Also, the beauty of the Qur'ān is accessible only in Arabic.

Basically a lot of the Quran predates Muhammad, and is stolen from previous writers. Also the parts Mohammad supposedly added were probably written by another person.

The language used in the majority of the Quran predates the contemporary language of Mr. Muhammad

Yes, the difference between divine inspiration and direct divine authorship is quite a big one. Not to repeat platitudes, but it's no wonder that the Christian and Jewish faiths have so many outshoots while Islam has quite a few.
