I'm currently around 70% through Mason and Dixon, and one thing that I just realized after doing some research is that the field book entries are actually real. Does anyone know where it's possible to read the journal entries?

wow, did not know this

i do know that there is literally a mason & dixon wiki though, I'm sure that would be a good place to start

Yes, I was reading some articles about the historical Mason and Dixon, and there were quotes lifted from the journal that were the exact same as the ones that were quoted in Mason and Dixon.

Alright, I found it, here it is to anyone interested.

It's filled with a lot more technical stuff, as expected, but you can definitely go through it and see how it aligns well with the novel. Pynchon definitely did his research, fucking madman

Apparently Pynchon worked on Mason & Dixon in some capacity as early as the mid 70s. It's not as balls to the wall as GR, but as far as depth of research goes, this one is just insane.
