My idea: Plot out a complete story, separate it into scenes, separate those scenes into places, pick one object in each of those places, describe it in extreme detail. See if you can convey the tonal progressus of the plot from this alone without cheating by imbuing the objects with feelings that they wouldn't inspire naturally.
