it's a real problem that some people on this board seem to think that someone you don't like engaging in something you do like "ruins" that thing.
To say that Shakira studying philosophy ruins philosophy just shows that you're not actually intellectually engaged with philosophy; you're just posturing at that point, and ultimately engaging in a form of identity politics in which a person's group status becomes more important than the substance of ideas; that's not the way real men of letters engage with the world.
