Hey guys

I'm trying to find the books that follow up on or start before Das Nibelungenlied. Any content regarding the old germanic or norse mythology would be appreciated greatly. I know Sigfried is mentioned in a couple other books, but I can't for the life of me find them.

Thanks in advance!

Op, try The Poetic Edda. There's some references to the nibelung treasure in there but doesn't exactly focus on Siegfried himself. However, it is an epic saga along the lines of Dad Nibelungenlied and something that might interest you; from the same time period.

Sorry I'm late but this ought to set you on the right track.

Also check the ebooks at heathengods.com

ignore the religious stuff if it bothers you, their collection is really top notch.

The same fundamental story is told in the Völsunga saga (in prose) and more fragmentary in the "Heroic lays" of the Poetic or Elder Edda (in verse).
