Don't feel bad about being confused. It's dense shit. On top of the infamously dense postmodernist/critical theory pedigree he uses, the futurism and cosmic horror shit is inherently cryptic.

Which is convenient for people like Land - by dressing up his philosophy in verbiage, and Continental conjecture, and edge-lord poetics like "speed up seismography readings and you'll hear the earth scream" it's enough to distract most people from the ridiculousness in claiming the Earth itself was biochemically traumatized by its own formation. As well as the more banal idiocy in generalizing the forces present in the modern world and acting as if everyone within specific arbitrary modalities (the Third World! The Metropolis! "Incestual" nativists!) are all working cohesively as a hive-mind and are not individual human beings with personal agency.

Land himself has disowned most of this stuff. The only really relevant critique of him now is if his theory that Capitalism-Evolution-Cybernetics-Intelligence are all synonyms for the second law of thermodynamics because everything he is currently theorising makes assumes so as an axiom. If you can dismiss that then you needn't bother with all the CCRU detritus.
