Because God and Jesus outlined morality when they wrote The Bible.

>How do we know that good and evil are real
They aren't strictly speaking
>and not abstractions based off human society
They are actually

Now some Anon will probably join this thread and start screaming about objective or at least rational ethics/moral but there is no objective ethics in the sense of something that is physically present and rational ethics depends on what is considered rational and irrational in any sociocultural setting.

it depends on your definition of good and evil. If you think “that which tends to existence” is good, then good exists regardless of humans.

We dont

Then why do christcucks and moralfags claim to know what is right and wrong and lecture people all the time?

because humans generally share the same concepts of good and evil. But for religion, believers have faith that these morals are objectively correct, that they apply to everyone’s soul without fail, because that’s how God crested the world.

Does God care about us? Will he judge us for our actions? Are any of those things logical since God is not human and humans vainly project our own morality onto God?

Where do the ideas of good and evil as something that transcends societal limitations or whats merely good for other people and oneself come from?

From humans. Literal brainlet-tier. Let me guess. You're second semester philosophy/theology student?

You can't know for sure; you just have to choose which of the two options you believe.

You can't will things into reality, like just because your conception of good and evil are possible and would allow for them to be real, doesn't mean that they are any bit more real. Same how a unicorn isn't more real just because my conception of it is a horse with a cone birthday hat on its head.

Because it's still possible to rationally evaluate your moral beliefs and change them, and usually it is learnt that something is moral/immoral, so these two things combined explain the practice of moral-fagging in our society.

This is correct. Morality, ethics, law, faith, are all contingent, practical, and constantly being debated and negotiated. It takes an incredible amount of tunnel vision to claim objective morality exists.

Really? So we should be abiding by all the Old Testament rules, or were all those "objective morals" somehow obsolete by the time Christ was born?

>> No.15075787

>>15075584
Yes if you are a Christian you should. I don't how a Christian could be alright with any other law system lol.

why would you begin by asserting that we know that good and evil are real and not abstractions based off human society?

Why would frame the question around "how" that assertion is true? We don't know whether that assertion is true, and to begin by assuming it is but admitting you don't know "how" betrays that your worldview is built on faith in this assertion.

And that's fine. You can have faith in that assertion. But your faith is weak if you're asking how. Either believe or don't, fool. Don't rely on 4chan retards.
