What is the source on this list? Where did it come from?

>> No.15058860

>>15058855
Some anon posted it here back in late September / early October

>> No.15058874

>>15058855
Why is there only one female author on the "must know" list?

>> No.15058880

>>15058860
Did the anon give any context for where he got it from? Is it from a class or writing workshop?

>> No.15058909

i've never read a biography of a writer. seems pointless and dumb hero worship. i don't care about an author or their life.

>Gómez Dávila
Why the fuck would you have a conservative political theorist and writer of aphorisms on a list of fiction writers?

>> No.15060094

Telling aspiring authors who are still developing their prose to read Proust is a dangerous plan

>> No.15060683

>>15060307
Yes. You're bound to find at least a few of those authors enjoyable and they are all very influential

>> No.15060763

>>15058855
It's a very single-minded list in the sense that all the authors are very specifically selected for the purpose of nurturing a modern novelist, so it does its job very well in that regard. On the other hand I think I'd prefer something a touch more whimsical, with recommendations for classical literature, non-fiction, etc.
