I can't start writing because I don't have a good plot, but I can't find a good plot because I can't develop my skills without writing. Should I just go on a full plotfag route a la Saramago (i.e. thinking of a quirky plot hook like "everybody suddenly turns blind" and develop it)? Or should I start writing shit like diaries/book reviews/very short stories about random stuff and get the habit?

It seems you shouldn't be writing because it's obvious you have nothing to write about.

Write about anything you want anon. What's the worse possible scenario? Some pretentious /lit/ fag finds it and makes fun of you? Literally does not affect your life at all. Write hot garbage until you are good enough to write regular garbage and so on. Nobody improves at anything without practice.

So you think I should go for the second option, i.e. writing random stuff for the sake of writing to get the good habit so when I actually have something to write about other than what I bought at the grocery shop I can be ready?

I couldn't care less about other people's opinion, it's just a matter of sitting down and filling up the white screen I have in front of me
