Malazan thread /lit/?

I just finished Dust of Dreams and I am kind of confused about the Shake. Are they a weird Liosan/Andii mixed breed? They followed Slichas Ruin into the Malazan world with Scarbandaris and the Edur...but it's clear they're not 100% Andii. I don't really get the weird denouement when Yan Tovis and Yedan arrive at the First Shore.

Little help please? Also general Malazan thread for questions/comments/spec about TCG etc...

Genuinely sorry, but I don't have much to contribute :(

I've only recently read Gardens of the Moon, and it was pretty good. OMG Quick Ben totally pwned that puppet douche!

Genuinely sorry about that last paragraph too :(

It's cool, this was my first post to /lit/ and now I see it's not a very active board. Well if you enjoyed Gardens of the Moon at all I suggest you read the rest because they only get progressively better...and Eriksons writing goes from pretty good to awesome.

Looking forward to plowing through it soon. I just finished a Zelazny marathon and Erikson is #2 on the list.

Just in time for the 10th and last book, no waiting around for you. I wish you good reading. Also avoid the Esslemont titles...they are...not good. To say the least. Just read plot summaries online.

If I remember correctly they essentially have watered down Andii blood and also some K'Chain Che'Malle blood or at the least some sort of taint from them due to the fact they sometimes get "demon" children being born who were chucked into the sea.

I think the Esslemont titles are actually rather good. Stonewielder was a vast improvement at the least. Might just be that im fond of the crimson guard and they seem to have more of a central role in his books
