Hey, hey people.
Has anyone read any or several of these?
The pic is a collection of supposedly super dark books.
Do you think these are worth reading?

Stoner is the life story of a literature professor. A lot of bad stuff happens to him, good read.

The Book of Disquiet is not really a "story", see it more like a... don't know a fictional diary? It's a collection of thoughts, highly recommended.

Céline is the grown man's Bukowsky. I'm still finishing Journey but it's a story about war and it's written in a very smart and ironic manner.

I haven't read the rest yet.

Read Stoner, it was great. Going to start The Maimed soon if I'm not going to continue my PKD binge.

A lot of Anons waxed lyrical about Stoner 2 years ago. Guess there's substance to the book.

Thanks!

Exit-level doesn't mean super dark for this chart. Exit-level for this chart means final boss or good books not many people have read.

That's an interesting interpretation. When I found this, "Exit level" were books that make you want to kill yourself. It was a bit of a meme.

But "final boss of literature" might make a good idea for a thread.

If that is the interpretation the author was going for then they have never read Anatomy of Melancholy, The Recognitions, Piers Plowman, or Women and Men. Piers Plowman is an allegorical Christian poem. If you come away from that wanting to kill yourself, you're an idiot. I strongly believe whoever made this chart is an idiot and hasn't read half the books on it.
