Hey guys, I was just wondering if you could give me some biography suggestions. I'm a history major so I'm pretty interested in historical figures (especially powerful historical figures who have been disfigured & demonized over time)
Favourites include Marie Antoinette: The Journey by Antonia Fraser and more recently Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff
Thanks!

Sincerely, I was planing on posting about Thomas Paine soon, on account of the mans birthday this Saturday.

Aside from reading his own works, a quick and exciting biography/American history book called Thomas Paine and the American Promise, by Harvey J Kaye, is an excellent starting point.

Nice. The Buddha one is soothing, and the Peter the Great one is very informative and often unintentionally hilarious. Do you have any you recommend?

Oh I'm the biggest fan of the BBC civilization docs; they don't focus directly on the leaders but there are sections.
Egypt is my favourite, The Celts is pretty interesting too.
