The problem with history books is that nobody translations them. However the asshole documentary makers get Japanese and Chinese people to translate excerpts for them. For example every Chinese documentary will have excerpts from book of han book of wei and records from the three kingdoms.
But for Japan Nihongi has an English translation but isn't available for sale I couldn't find a translation of Kojiki anywhere. I'm just a layman so other Japanese history books escape me.
