How can I get into lovecraft?

I wouldn't call his work horror, not by a modern definition. The memes about his work make this clear, they make fun of the fact the so called horrors he depicts are weak sauce for modern minds inured to strangeness and perversion by the media. So I would recommend getting into him via his less horrifying works, the early story The Tomb or his high fantasy The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath.
