What is laughably absurd though is that Hegel downplays Math and Physics. These are mere "special sciences", but his (Hegel's) system is Absolute Knowledge. Before humanity was groping in the dark, but now Hegel has "discovered the conditions that make science possible". Nevermind that before Hegel's day Newton and Leibniz had been inventing Calculus and discovering the laws of Classical Mechanics, nevermind that Lavoisier, Dalton and others were establishing the field of modern Chemistry, all of that is child's play. Only now, with Hegel, we have arrived at Science with a capital 's' or Absolute Knowledge. I could expand on the humorously hubristic claims of Hegel's system, such as bridging the gap between subject and object (!), but I will simply ask this. Any Hegelians out there: it has been more than a century now since Hegel has solved philosophy and blessed us with the system of Absolute Knowledge. So what has Asbolute Knowing produced by way of knowledge since? What wonderful discoveries has this field of divine Wisdom blessed us with? I mean there must be at least some. It's a meme. The whole thing.
