This makes Ulysses look like shit. Nice taste. Truly modernist book where everything is presented through the senses and emotions of the characters. Very great experience. It's like living in 6-7 different people's minds.

This is the book that really got me into reading literary fiction and classics. Before I was just reading this sort of stuff for the same reasons I eat broccoli - because it's good for you. But this novel was the first I truly appreciated. The last few chapters where Bernard is reminiscing in old age were painful but beautifully written. I'm sure I missed most of the themes and stuff, and I'm too dumb to even be giving an opinion. All I can do is admire.
