Nobody has any way of knowing if "Helen of Troy was 12," and his last claim is also bullshit, so I think we can ignore the rest of that crap. In the majority of states (34), it is 16 years of age. In the remaining states, the age of consent is either 17 or 18 years old (6 and 11 states, respectively). For the rest of the post: age of consent laws aren't about reproductive health, fuckhead, and citing historical precedents is a mark of idiocy. Do you want to defend slavery and burning witches too? There are plenty of reasonable arguments for lower ages of consent, but these aren't them.

In the modern first world there is a lot of immature sex devoid of commitment. Evolutionary speaking, it is a bad bet for young to have sex and impregnate without being able to provide or at least have the government steal the unwilling males paycheck, since younger males are less likely to be working. Plus our culture is different and so older males look like creeps or worse when they wish for a young and most likely immature adult. Feminism wants to guard females in certain ways depending on the variety of feminism.
