Bataille seems like such a fake to me. You can tell by the way that he writes, his moroseness and self-disgust, that he has never raped or killed anyone. Sade, on the other hand, reflects much more the attitudes of a killer, in that he is extremely cheerful.

No movies. The whole is short enough to be erotic in one read and too extreme for a movie - involves death. As a literary experience I recommend it. It's legitimately arousing and plen-filtering as it has nothing with your regular pornhub-manufactured video. Though Bataille has aged - intellectually speaking - literarily speaking he still stands tall. I read him in the original French but I believe the translations are good. Stop shitposting and read it.
