what are the best spanish prose writers?
please no authors that have no novels, ideology is mind cancer and i'd like to not listen to someone's mad ramblings about how the catholic church is evil for not liking buttsex or something similar

100 years of solitude is his best but also his hardest
i'l recommend you to start with
-tha bad hour
-chronicle of a death foretold
-memory of my melancholy whores
all of those are under 100 pages
then you can go with Love in times of Cholera and 100 years

Quevedo wrote wonderfully however his novels are few and, aside from la Vida del Buscón, somewhat obscure. His Marco Bruto is masterpiece.
Galdós’ prose is quite good.
Cansinos Assens (who translated the Arabian Knights) has a magnificent style. Borges adored this man.
Borges is incomparable but the lunatic definitely wasn’t a novelist.
The Reina-Valera Bible is a classic, our King James however not quite as impressive.
García Marquéz.
