Bro I will say this, I really appreciate any anon that takes the time to write up effortposts, even if I don't reply. merely saying shocking stuff gets old pretty fast. It is interesting though basically 'trying on personalities/perspectives'. You can actually pretend to be some way and inhabit it and have people respond to it. And you can change it as much as you like whenever you feel like it.

I think people who spend a lot of time on 4chan start to find the entire concept of having an identity almost quaint. Like when you see someone who is obviously putting on airs and being ridiculous, except almost everybody starts seeming that way. I don't just mean that we all tend to be some way or set of ways, of course that is true to a degree, but the identities we value so much really do seem like meme constructs sometimes. When you're exposed to such an uncensored variety of ways of thinking or being and can try them yourself the mystique of some particular way of being starts fade somewhat. Irl of course you still put on an identity because you pretty much have to to function socially, people expect it, and they get very mad if they sense you're not taking their identities seriously. But there is an element of comedy to it after a while imo.

Even if people don't respond or read it, I often do some medium-length write ups of my thoughts on writings just as practice for myself and to check my actual knowledge of a topic. If you can't be the sound voice among a chorus of idiots, how are you going to articulate your viewpoint to girls IRL OP?
