I can still write dialogue even if I never talk to anybody, r-right?

>> No.14871564

Yes, but you need to understand some things. First off you need to be able to observe people and come up with inner dialogue that fits the real life scene. Secondly, you must be able to write it down as if you didn't write it yourself (write drunk for example)

I don't understand why I should do this.

Not him, but one of the elements the defines you is apparenty never talking to anyone. If you write the dialogue as someone else writing it, it may make your isolation less painfully obvious

That's interesting, even though it seems a little weird. Maybe what you're referring to is entering a flow state when I'm writing, so that I forget about myself and the environment, only focusing on the words.

You can fill any hole in experience with observance and research, so, yeah.

Sure, but you'll need to hear what other people say to understand how real dialogues work and how to make conversations seem natural. If you are able to commute or do any activity that has people around you, try to eavesdrop a bit.

It's much more important to listen to people than to speak yourself to write good dialogue. What you ought to at all cost avoid is to copy the way they talk in film and in television shows.

Yes, it will just be bad dialogue.

It's not necessarily meant to be realistic dialogue of superficial relations, but knowing that emotional and charismatic character of interpersonal interactions is vital. Even if you only extract that from the mere superficiality of common-talk.

Solid advice, thank you.
