At a certain point one has to wonder about the morality of releasing information like this. I’m not making the point against racism; I’m saying that knowledge of IQ-data can be utterly demoralising to people.
For example I worked as an assistant teacher while doing my master’s and there was this kid, around 16, who performed abysmally on every maths test, despite possessing the ability to get a C/B, at least, if he tried. When I asked him why he was so averse to studying, he told me that he took an online IQ test and got a result of 98, and that he would never be able to achieve anything because of this. He said this with an affected bravado, as if it were something that didn’t bother him much, but I could tell from his attitude that there was a deep bitterness and self-hatred engendered in him because of it.

I know science is supposed to be an indifferent vehicle of truth-acquisition, but we really do need to take a step back and ask if “truth” is really going to bring us happiness; and, if not, whether it should be prized above it. I mean science already destroyed a lot of the traditions and sentiments we hold dear.

I don’t know, I guess I’m just babbling.

Sounds like if it wasn't the "IQ test" that provoked this psychological reaction in him, it would have been something else, because he was looking for confirmation of this image of himself. Here, IQ is irrelevant -- he probably just needed to see a therapist.

I don’t think so. In the past people who weren’t intellectually promising simply didn’t go to school. Then they had an excuse: God, or fate, or whatever, made it so that I was born into this social class, and that is why I am uneducated. When the social hierarchy was clear, people weren’t put on a level playing field. Then the poor were simply “unfortunates” instead of “failures”. It's really funny because there is nothing stating that intelligence distribution must remain like this and that the "heritability" mentioned must be 100% race based.
In my own estimation, and this is especially true in the US where I assume the bulk of the author's analysis was based, that a difference in "inherited" intelligence levels could be yet another emblematic symptom of the vastly different culture and un-level playing field between races, blacks and whites especially.
Take for example the widely different attitudes of young students in schools when it comes to paying attention in class (again, in the US). Now, it can be argued that that attitude is compounded by unfair school funding which is racist in nature, and I would agree at the possibility. However, the difference in experience and culture based on what race they were born into is still present.

But no! Telling the truth about this would be too demoralizing!
We should just keep telling them that the system is rigged and all white people hate them; that will be sure to cheer them up.
