I think it might be even simpler than that -
the first sentence on the first line has length X. Repeat the sentence for an arbitrarily chosen number of words until the end of the first line - this is a sentence fragment of length Y. On the second line, print the remainder of the sentence - its length is (X-Y). Then print another sentence fragment of length Y.

So now the second line consists of a sentence fragment of length (X-Y) followed by a sentence fragment of length Y, giving a total length of (X-Y) + Y = X.
This exactly corresponds to the length of the first sentence, which is why they match up perfectly!
