What are some books where someone works hard obsessively and sacrifices everything for a goal? Fiction or non-fiction.

Probably the most selfless man in history. Thanks to the internet he is finally getting the recognition that he deserves, I believe that it's no hyperbole to say he's the top 5 greatest heroes in world history and easily the number 1 of modern history (or strived to be and came very close... so much that it required most of the world to take down utopia).

He didn't kill himself because he was depressed and ODed on acetaminophen, you dimwit. Most of the world ganged up on him, he bunkered down to the last moment and instead of getting captured and tortured for info to twist as bad things against his men, helped his woman and dog to be put to sleep and ended his life. He was nearly 60, as a veteran of WW1 that his stomach survived a mustard gas attack and was riddled with holes and in pain, what did you expect him to do? Be Rambo and fight for a few minutes and then be inevitably captured? Moronic, you are a mental midget and evidence that not everybody deserves a voice.

>Should’ve died in the fury of battle rather than send out senile old fathers and young boys to die in the final moments of Berlin.
He was leader not a fighter anymore and his priority was leading, he still lead the Werwolf campaign until the final moments (which were supposed to keep fighting after the war and actually did until the 50s) and passed off leadership of Germany to Goebbels. His final letter makes it clear he had no intention for Germany to stop fighting. It would've been egoistic of him to die this way, he served in WW1 and fought valiantly, he didn't need to be this stupid martyr... he had other plans.

>He said the German people abandoned him
Citation needed, and not a (((Hollywood))) movie.

No, he abandoned the German people when he decided to attack the USA and USSR at the same time, knowing full well what lies at the end of that roads.

(WWII was a calculated ploy to create Israel, anyways, and Hitler was a willing patsy in that ploy.)

The plot of the Fountainhead is this exact idea, working hard and sacrificing most things in life for achievement (in a creative sense). I know it gets shit on for not being the most well written book and having a garbage ending, but it is worth the read in my opinion.
