Great literature board you’ve got here, guys.

/lit/ is full of socialist cucks that are enraged he hasn't gone through their didactic wasteland of theory.

>/lit/ is full of socialist cucks
It's not. It's full of people who alternatively shitpost about reading theory, guenon, and christian theology. None of these people are earnest (yet).

Why read books when you got folk like jp who can't tell us all about it in a vid? Are you even efficient bro?

No, it's definitely socialist, marxist and generally left-leaning. It's always been that way. What you describe is the opposition which has grown bigger in recent years.

Seeing as how he and Chomsky are the last two living intellectuals of our generation and new ones probably aren't even born yet it's no surprise people are obsessed with him

/lit/ day one posting was all Ayn Rand all the time (until a global ban was instituted). The board may have a minority of leftist or anarchist posters, but the board has never been, and is not currently, left leaning. Personally, I suspect that nearly all leftist posting is shitposting to rile the actual majority.

Then it has traction and the thread starts in earnest. Sometimes you need to keep it simmering for a bit. Your audience is not just waiting for you 24/7. Further, opie should always be prepared to contribute. Usually opie is fully passive and will not even contribute to his own thread.

Yeah, that was probably me when I got here fresh out of /pol/. I was dominating a thread one time and some dude wandered in. He was totally baffled by the obtuse shit I was arguing against myself.
>dude - this whole thread is just me arguing with myself and tugging my meat
>*why would anyone even do that?*
lel. Pic somewhat related.

It is a small clique of five or six /leftypol/ posters trying to sway the discussion but they only manage to annoy the actual userbase of /lit/

I think you should survey the board for a day. You're clearly inflating the amount and role of leftist shit posting relative to right wing shit posting. Let's be clear, I don't think much gets posted earnestly on /lit/, so it's impossible to make empirical judgments on the political leans of the board without making, at least, one big assumption; but judging the board just on its content, it's not a leftist board.

Do you do this on boards with poster id's?
because whenever i see that I assume the poster is schizoid

Are you a newfag? It really isn't that surprising. I easily remember when there were up to 10 threads about him or his "12 Rules for Life" self-help book when he was at his peak in terms of popularity and 4chan board culture back in early/mid-2018. Even on /pol/ he had more threads about him than almost any politician outside of Trump. He became a larger than life figure.

Then he suddenly disappears for so long that over 90% of people forget about him. Now in 2020, we find out he's been turned into a vegetable after some bizarre medical treatment in Russia he used as alternative treatment for crippling benzo withdrawal. Whether you admired him or thought he was a meme/con artist, his fall is straight out of some sensational work of fiction.

As far as I'm concerned, if you joined after the creation of /pol/ (and it sounds like you did)
you're a newfag.

There is much to talk about with books. "yeah I liked that part" "I think the author meant x" is boring

It doesn't matter. I can access multiple IPs so I can spoof. I probably did this 4 times on /lit/ a couple of years ago. I only do it when inspiration hits. I have also flooded /his/ so every response on the visible screen was mine.

i would say the majority (60-70%?) are right-leaning, but of those people, a stronger majority (80+%?) are well-read enough such that they can engage with the leftist dialogue earnestly

There was a lot of crossover posting of JP between /pol/ and /lit/ just as there is with Tedposting. Whatever your meaningless definition of a newfag is, these threads were bound to happen if you've been paying any attention.

What needs to happen is that the blatant question-asking threads need to be deleted outright or shunted to /adv/. If you are some pathetic loser who is crawling to /lit/ for advice on how to live your life, you need to be told to fuck off. We can't babysit the average teenage or twentysomething moron who's having babby's first existential crisis. They all probably just need to be punched in the face, it would do them some good.
