He studied Gradus ad Parnassum and CPE Bach's treatie on the art of keyboard playing and praised both but most of what he learned through study back then was done through apprenticeship with a master(in his case in Haydn and others) not books.

So there of course being no Haydn around it is unlikely I will be the next Beethoven?

Can't go wrong with Schiller and Goethe, together with Neetsche and Grim bro's probably the few German writers who could actually write.

But it's more about autistic level of practicing and experimenting. And even then it's unlikely you'll get anywhere near him if you had twice the time, Ludwig was an unique nigga.

Should note Haydn himself was selftaught in composition(he also read Gradus ad Parnassum which is what taught him the basis of counterpoint and he studied others composers' works). Goethe you have to read everything.
