The first two parts were kino. The second half was mindless American south drivel and Jason and his mother were painful to read.

Am I too Euro to get it or is there some deeper meaning behind it?

Also Faulkner larping blacks was harder to read than the Quentin parts.

Faulkner unironically does an excellent job writing southern black voices. It definitely sounds like you're too yuro. But then again, even the French loved Faulkner, especially this book.
