I'm listening to jungle, but you've got the right idea. We tried to fight the lalilulelo and in the process we became the lalilulelo. A few million people create the trickle down memetics that becomes the IRL culture, but they haven't understood the true extent of their own influence.
To give you just one example, respectable colleges and broadcasters now say there are over 100 genders. Many of the things they list as official genders LITERALLY originate from tumblr, but they don't know that. Those who challenge them do so with /pol/-tier talking points, again not knowing where this style of argument comes from. Both are possessed by meme viruses.
Meme magick is real. It produces semiotic egregores that reproduce themselves and compete for mental energy.

Qualitatively, the difference is that the change comes from below, not from above. You don't have to have achieved anything irl to have influence, you just have to have niche interests. You also don't have to have studied anything to do with logic, linguistics and symbol manipulations, as these skills are acquired organically by participation in fringe online communities.
Quantitatively, the difference is that bandwidth and latency are radically changed, allowing meme propagation to occur much more quickly with a tiny fraction of the previous resistance. An occult group would historically have taken a whole lifetime to infiltrate the mainstream with their ideas. Now it is possible to infect the whole population quicker than their institutions can keep up.
/x/-tier metaphysics, /pol/ack politics, /b/tard gossip, tumblr morality and youtube dialogue are the future. There is no escaping it.

Millennials were born during peak western civilization - old enough to remember the highs, but too young to have fully experienced them. We live our lives through nostalgia, always trying to get back to those times we missed out on.
Zoomers don't even remember peak civilization, except through second hand accounts of it. They don't even have nostalgia to give them false hope. They know they are in a decaying society.

To speak to your point more generally, yes people of moderately high IQ will be early adopters of new rhetoric. Traditionally this allowed high IQ priest castes to project soft power and direct society from above. Improvements in information technology disrupt their ability to maintain the gatekeepers. The internet will do to the academy and media what the printing press once did to the church.

It's a classic problem of abundance scenario. Nothing ever going right for you leads to depression. Too much going right for you leads to ennui. Human happiness depends to a large degree on creating optimal stressors.
>the majority of what's wrong with the world can be directly traced back to sexual revolution/women having the ability to vote
Notice that self reported female happiness has gone down, not up since this happened. Patriarchal society provided healthy stressors.

Insofar as she is discussing topics that are more difficult and interesting and philosophically-tinged than what most cute 22 year old vloggers are talking about on Youtube, I approve of Savannah in theory. But only in theory. I've watched a number of her videos, but I always find that after listening to her speak for more than thirty seconds, I invariably start to get an urge to slap her in the face so that she'll stop talking.
At first, I wasn't sure what it was about her that made this feeling well up inside me. It wasn't the content of what she was saying. This video, for instance, features nothing more substantial than some half-baked regurgitation of existentialist platitudes repackaged with a the gloss of late millennial internet culture. But, again, that content is still more interesting and substantial than lots of the other stuff I watch on Youtube without issue.
Then I considered that it might be her looks: did I consider her pretty? Ugly? Yes, she is a bit taller and and less shapely than my interior image of a perfect female beauty; but, overall, she is cute: clear pale skin, large, engaging eyes, a sweet smile. Perhaps, I thought to myself, I don't like the combination of intellectual and cute, and if she had only been slightly uglier, hearing her pontificate would not have impelled me to think violent thoughts about shutting her up. But that isn't the case, either! I can think of good-looking intelligent women whom I quite enjoy listening to speak intelligently.
Was it, then, something to do with her voice? The quality, the cadence and rhythm? She speaks a little too fast, and with that annoying affected stiltedness vain and yet self-hating intellectual people often use to signal their insecurity, as if insecurity were some terrible mark that nevertheless distinguished the chosen people, the sensitive, neurotic intellectuals, from the common herd. (Think Woody Allen.) In one fell swoop this affectation tells you that the speaker thinks they are better than you, and also that they hate themselves. But people prefer things that are better to things that are worse; ergo, if the speaker hates themselves, and they think they are better than you, it is implied that they hate you too.
This is the closest I've come to a conclusion for why she irks me. Her posturing as weak, unsure, and self-hating, while simultaneously acting like these qualities were born out of her superior nature, coupled with her profound experiences, penetrating insights, and hard-won wisdom about the truth of reality, a truth which is fundamentally depressing and tragic--all this is essentially self-congratulatory and condescending dissimulation. But I'm not even sure if that explains my feelings.
