14778423 No.14778423 [Reply] [Original]

Should I dedicate my life to non-fiction in direct search of truths or fiction and live the /lit/ life, in search of truths through lyric. What's the truly /lit/ move?

>> No.14778433

Dedicate yourself to things you want to do or accomplish, not to abstract headlines.

>> No.14778453

Non-fiction and basic knowledge will be outmoded by later researchers and writers (Chomsky himself is a huge example). Whereas, with prose or poetry, you will be remembered for the beauty of expression and the 'poetic truths', read continuously, rather than be seen as a footnote to some other textbook or research paper, even if the content of your writing turns out to be dead wrong.

Dedicate your life to the revolution.

So that we might enjoy a little of both without worry.

The revolution is never going to happen and you're just going to waste your life and die with no change in the system like Chomsky will.

I hope it doesn’t happen in the way you think it would/wont. Because there’s precious little time for that nonsense.

She's just a fat, lazy, aging lesbian. She literally does nothing but sit on her ass and shitpost about the revolution. It's pathetic

A lot is happening Now.
Currently I am just theorizing and strategizing. But I will be able to call myself a revolutionary someday.

>Should I dedicate my life to non-fiction in direct search of truths
There is such a thing as literary nonfiction, as well as nonliterary nonfiction.

>or fiction and live the /lit/ life, in search of truths through lyric.
What do you mean?

>> No.14779198

>>14779192
You should dedicate yourself to fiction reading.

Has a revolution ever happened in human history? If so, why do you believe a revolution will never happen in the future?

There needs to be something in life worth than the possibility of losing your life. No one in America except larpers want a revolution because life is good for 90% of the population.

OK, that is an empirical claim. At some point -- maybe now, maybe later -- that supposition will be put to the test.

I don't know. What I do know is that eventually the dam breaks. The French Revolution happens. The Fenian Brotherhood succeeds in transferring ownership of the means of production (ie. land) from absentee English aristocrats to the Irish tenant farmers who made it work. Whether it happens in ten years or ten thousand years, it will happen.

It really isn't. If humanity survives the next few hundred years, Capital will almost certainly be socialized. That's a pretty conservative assessment.
